(Radio Iowa) – Several more inches of snow are forecast today for parts of southern Iowa, though forecasters say the big weather story is the extreme cold that’ll settle in tonight.
National Weather Service Meteorologist Rod Donavon, says dangerous wind chills are likely for much of northern and central Iowa, which will be under an Extreme Cold Warning tonight and tomorrow morning. Donavon says we’ll likely see the coldest temperatures of the winter, with overnight lows ranging from seven-below to 20-below and wind chills bottoming out at 40-below.
Road conditions are deteriorating in southwest and south-central Iowa as that region expects up four more inches of snow during the day.
