(Radio Iowa) – U-S Agriculture Secretary Brooke Rollins says the Trump Administration is planning another round of market disruption payments if the tariffs the president announces today lead to a downturn in ag exports.
Rollins, who made several stops in Iowa Monday, says there’s less money available for the payments than there were in the first Trump Administration when U-S ag exports to China fell due to a trade dispute. Trump’s previous administration paid 23 BILLION in three years to farmers for trade-related losses.
Rollins says Trump was elected on a platform that argued tariffs are one of the top tools to realign the American economy and put Americans first.
