A 61-year-old inmate at the women’s prison in Chillicothe has
died of apparent natural causes.
Officials with the Chillicothe Correctional Center report
Sheila Phillips died Sunday morning.
Phillips was sentenced to prison in March of 2024, serving a
six-year sentence for voluntary manslaughter, armed criminal action, and
tampering with physical evidence from Stone County. Phillips was also serving
time for abandonment of a corpse from Dade County.
