The Kansas City Chiefs won on Sunday against the AFC West rival Denver Broncos in thrilling fashion, and as of this morning the man that was in the middle of all of it is being recognized with some hardware.
Chiefs linebacker Leo Chenal, who blocked Denver’s potential game winning field goal attempt in the final second of Sunday afternoon’s game, has been named the AFC Special Teams Player of the Week.
His play marked just the third blocked field goal to end a game for any team in the last 10 seasons.
Chenal is the first member of the Chiefs to win the award since kicker Harrison Butker earned Special Teams Player of the Week honors in Week 17 of last season
