A fatal house fire in Maryville very early Monday morning is under investigation.
The Maryville Fire Department says a woman told firefighters her husband was trapped inside the house. Rescue crews located the victim and removed him from the burning structure. Emergency medical personnel treated him at the scene and then got him to the hospital, but he died of his injuries.
The fire department says it received a call shortly before four o’clock Monday morning. By the time firefighters arrived, the house was engulfed.
The Missouri Fire Marshal’s Office is on the scene, helping with the investigation.
